Jim Clark to be learning experience for Welsh driver
25 May 2011
Young rally driver, Elfyn Evans, is looking to Jim Clark rally as a key 'learning experience' in this year's championship. The rally, due to take place this Friday and Saturday, is set to challenge the Pirelli Star Driver and his co-driver, Andrew Edwards - their first time competing in four wheel drive on tarmac.
Last weekend, Elfyn experienced a failure during testing of the TEG Sport Subaru Impreza, leading to his time behind the wheel being unexpectedly cut short.
He shared his thoughts on the upcoming event:
"Jim Clark will be my first time competing in four wheel drive on tarmac, so there's some extra pressure there. I'm sure the testing being cut short may compromise my performance slightly, but I see this weekend as a good learning experience and I will take it as it comes. As always, I've got my head held high and I'm looking forward to competing."
Elfyn Evans, from Dolgellau Gwynedd, Wales, has seen some strong performances so far this year, including a victory at the Bulldog rally.
